What Qualifies as a Valid Bug?

Valid Bugs (Eligible for Reward)

  • Planetary position errors (beyond 1° tolerance)
  • Dasha/Antardasha calculation mistakes
  • Nakshatra/Pada miscalculations
  • Lagna/Bhava cusp errors
  • Ayanamsa application issues
  • Panchang element errors (Tithi, Yoga, Karana)
  • Divisional chart (Varga) calculation errors
  • Planetary aspects/dignity miscalculations

Not Valid (Won't Qualify)

  • Interpretation differences (subjective readings)
  • Different Ayanamsa preferences (Lahiri vs Raman vs KP)
  • House system debates (Placidus vs Equal vs Whole Sign)
  • Prediction accuracy complaints (astrology is probabilistic)
  • UI/UX issues or typos (not calculation bugs)
  • Feature requests or suggestions
  • Comparison with unreliable free websites
  • Already known/reported issues

Note: AstroNidan uses True Chitra Paksha Ayanamsha as default and Whole Sign house system for Vedic charts. Differences due to other systems are not bugs. We verify against Swiss Ephemeris and authoritative classical texts.

For a Critical Bug: 1 Year Elite Subscription (worth $200) - includes unlimited Kundali, all premium reports, priority support, and ad-free experience.

For a Minor Bug: 6 Months Elite ($100 value).
For an Edge Case: 3 Months Elite ($50 value).

Our founder personally reviews each submission. We cross-check against Swiss Ephemeris, classical texts, and multiple professional software. If there's ambiguity, we may ask for clarification. We aim to respond within 48-72 hours.

We use True Chitra Paksha Ayanamsha as the default for all Vedic calculations. We also support Lahiri, KP, Raman, and other Ayanamsas in settings. Differences due to Ayanamsa choice are not considered bugs.

We use Whole Sign House System for Vedic charts, which is the traditional Parashari method. Differences due to Placidus, Equal, or other house systems are not considered bugs—they're methodological preferences.

For planetary longitudes, we consider errors greater than 1° (one degree) as bugs. Minor variations within 1° can occur due to different ephemeris precision and are acceptable. For Dasha dates, errors of more than 1 day are considered bugs.

Yes! Each valid bug earns its own reward. If you find 3 critical bugs, you could earn 3 years of Elite subscription. However, duplicate reports or variations of the same underlying bug count as one submission.

The Astrology Bug Bounty is an ongoing program with no end date. As long as this page is live, you can submit bugs. We believe in continuous improvement and welcome scrutiny at any time.

No. This program is about calculation accuracy, not prediction accuracy. Astrology is probabilistic—predictions describe tendencies, not certainties. A wrong prediction doesn't mean incorrect calculations. We're testing if planets, Dashas, and charts are computed correctly.
